How to pack a suitcase correctly

1.Make a list of things. The simplest and most banal advice, but many people forget about it. The list will save you from unnecessary thinking about your suitcase and will save a lot of time. It’s even faster to take the list from a special phone application as a basis (there are many such applications, choose any) and supplement it with your own things.

2. Always be prepared. Identify items that you only use when traveling and store them together on a separate shelf or in a separate box. For example, if travel versions of shampoos, toothpaste and other hygiene products are in a special cosmetic bag, then you can select the ones you need and put them in your suitcase in a few seconds. The same rule applies, for example, with beach accessories.

3.Get a travel first aid kit. Keep a minimum set of all necessary medications in it. As a rule, it includes: pain reliever, antipyretic, allergy pills, nasal drops, means for normalizing digestion and intestinal problems, a couple of bactericidal patches. If necessary, your special medications. To save space, tablets in blisters can be stored without a box (make sure the name is visible). If you do an audit once a year and check the expiration date of the medications, then when you go on vacation, you can put the first aid kit in your suitcase without looking at it.

Step two: get rid of the excess

Perhaps this is the most difficult thing, especially for girls going to the resort. I want to always be beautiful, often change outfits and shoes, walk in the best dresses. Here the principle of a capsule wardrobe will come to the aid of fashionistas.

Place all the clothes and shoes you plan to take with you on the sofa or floor. Try to put together several universal sets: top, bottom, shoes, jacket (or something warm on top) plus accessories. Give preference to so-called basic items of simple color and cut that are easy to combine. For example, a light solid-color T-shirt can be combined with jeans, shorts, a floor-length skirt, and, complete with the right accessories, can be part of an evening look. Try not to take on a trip something that you will wear only once (unless, of course, we are talking about a wedding dress for a photo shoot). The same principle applies to shoes: take the most comfortable one that will be appropriate both for a walk and in a restaurant.

Separately fold the items you plan to travel with. It may turn out that you have already prepared a sweatshirt with you and plan to wear a similar one on the road. In this case, you can refuse the duplicate item.

Check your accommodation conditions in advance: is there a hairdryer, slippers, bathrobe and toiletries in the room, and does the hotel provide beach towels? This way you can safely leave a couple more bulky items at home.

Remember that most often all the things you need for a vacation are sold at the hotel or near it. So you can also put away the extra tube of sunscreen so as not to take up precious space in your suitcase.

Try not to take a lot of cosmetics on your trip. Make do with travel versions or miniature replicas of decorative cosmetics. And there are two reasons at once: firstly, saving space and the absence of unnecessary excess. And secondly, this way you will protect cosmetics from changes in pressure and temperature, which can cause them to deteriorate.
